“She was building up an escape from NewJeans”… The Reality of Min Hee Jin’s Lies
1.Starting with the conclusion.
“ADOR has neither the will nor the ability to protect NewJeans.”
Like birds wanting to fly freely. (But birds are not bound by contracts to branches.)
NewJeans plans to follow Min Hee Jin — a CEO who has the will and ability to protect them.
2.What are artists to Min Hee-jin?
“Enduring disgust and working hard, haha. Feels like I’m doing good for others. Wasting time feeding immature kids.” (December 30, 2023)
This conversation glimpses Min Hee-jin’s duplicity. Fundamentally, she doesn’t respect artists.
According to Min Hee-jin, NewJeans are immature kids. And her role is to endure disgust.
“Haha. What would they know? When I see them just looking in the mirror and thinking about dancing, I feel disillusioned.” (December 30, 2023)
“What artist? How many times do I have to say they’re not? Don’t say that annoying word, haha. What kind of artist?” (January 8, 2024)
3. To Min Hee-jin, artists are tools.
She used NewJeans as a loudspeaker against HYBE—a speaker to convey her intentions.
For example, the surprise live broadcast on September 11 (by NewJeans).
“I don’t think the way HYBE is working now is right. Please reinstate our CEO…” (Hyein)
“What we want is the original ADOR where CEO Min Hee-jin is in charge of both management and producing…” (Minji)
Always about reinstatement. Coincidentally, it’s what Min Hee-jin demanded from HYBE that morning.
4.Min Hee-jin’s comeback strategy was two-fold.
Min Hee-jin demanded the CEO position via email (behind the scenes). Simultaneously, NewJeans pressured HYBE through the broadcast (up front).
‘Dispatch’ has obtained text messages Min Hee-jin sent to NewJeans members’ families. These conversations occurred on the day of the live broadcast.
“We clearly request the reinstatement of the CEO for normalizing management.” (Min Hee-jin, September 11, 2024)
At the time, Min Hee-jin was cornered. It was when her irrational response to a sexual harassment victim and the reality of her ‘personal vendetta’ were revealed.
Min Hee-jin overturned the negative public opinion with that live broadcast. The ‘immature kids’ paved the way for her to make a living.
5. NewJeans emphasized that the live broadcast was ‘their own decision.’
“We’re worried that absurd comments like ‘Did the CEO make you do this?’ might come out.”
Min Hee-jin’s side also blocked such suspicions. In a (now-deleted) KBS interview, they said, “Min Hee-jin tried to stop the live broadcast.”
Did she really try to stop it?
The Telegram messages obtained by ‘Dispatch’ tell a different story. (These messages are conversations between Min Hee-jin and NewJeans members’ families on the afternoon of September 11.)
Min Hee-jin knew the exact start time of the broadcast. She was even excited, saying, “Bunnies are setting the stage for us.” Does this look like someone who ‘tried to stop’ it?
Min Hee-jin used the artists’ voices to convey her demands.
6. Protection: To take good care so that danger or difficulty does not reach. (Korean dictionary)
Parents do not send their daughters to the battlefield. They do not use them as swords or shields. In fights, wounds are inevitable; danger cannot be avoided.
On October 9, Hani sent a message to ‘Bunnies.’
“I’ve decided!! I’m going to the National Assembly! The National Audit! I’ll go alone!”
Again, Hani emphasized that it was ‘her own decision.’
“Don’t worry!! I’m going for myself and the members. The managers and the company don’t know yet.” (Hani)
Neither the managers nor the company knew, but Min Hee-jin did.
7. It’s impossible for Min Hee-jin not to know.
A day before announcing her ‘National Audit’ attendance, on October 8, Hani visited Min Hee-jin’s studio. She was holding a yellow envelope (summons as a reference witness).
Min Hee-jin welcomed Hani warmly. Lawyer Sejong was also present. They talked for over four hours.
Min Hee-jin patted Hani’s back. Was it ‘restraint’ or ‘encouragement’? Hani eventually moved her stage to the National Assembly.
Hani shed tears, saying, “If we respect each other as humans, issues like workplace harassment and ostracism wouldn’t exist.”
Is Hani’s tears precious because she’s an idol, and the manager’s tears irrelevant because they’re staff? This is the dark shadow of the K-pop industry.
(Meanwhile, the Ministry of Labor concluded the case, saying, “Hani is not a worker under the Labor Standards Act.” She earned 5.2 billion won last year as an individual entrepreneur.)
8. Minji said at the press conference on the 29th.
“I haven’t talked separately with CEO Min Hee-jin, but I believe she feels the same as us…”
NewJeans distanced themselves from Min Hee-jin when announcing important positions. During the live broadcast, it was ‘on our own’; during the National Audit, ‘alone’; at the press conference, ‘separately.’
The problem is that the invisible hand is too plainly visible. That’s because the live broadcast → National Audit → press conference was a kind of escape buildup.
Moreover, the press conference was decided even before receiving HYBE’s (content-certified) reply. The conclusion was already made; they just needed time to build justification.
Meanwhile, Min Hee-jin was busy in another way.
9. ‘Min Sung-il’ (Min Hee-jin + An Sung-il) is a compound word that Min Hee-jin ‘extremely dislikes.’
In her logic, ‘Fifty’ stabbed her in the back (colluding with An Sung-il), and NewJeans was betrayed (with her). She intensely dislikes being compared to An Sung-il.
She might have been conscious of tampering allegations. When investment rumors with ‘Daboin Link’ circulated, Min Hee-jin swiftly and thoroughly denied them as groundless.
“I clearly state that I have never contacted or discussed with any place. I am expressing this to prevent any innocent victims or to avoid being used as another source of dispute by HYBE, so please do not misunderstand.” (Min Hee-jin’s statement)
Again, it’s a lie.
10. Min Hee-jin met with ‘Daboin Link’ directly.
On September 30, Min Hee-jin met with Mr. A, the actual owner of this company. The link between the two is Mr. B, the (uncle) of a NewJeans member.
‘Dispatch’ captured the three-way meeting of Min Hee-jin, Chairman A, and Uncle B. The reality of the rumors about Min Hee-jin’s future moves was confirmed at that moment.
Min Hee-jin went to Chairman A’s house (in Cheongdam-dong). She moved in a Carnival sent by Mr. B. The three talked for over three hours in the meeting room of H Villa.
“Do you think I can take NewJeans with me?”
Chairman A told ‘Dispatch’ exactly what Min Hee-jin said at the time. He explained, “It seemed like Min Hee-jin and Mr. B were already preparing to escape from HYBE.”
Can it be unrelated to tampering suspicions? At the time, Min Hee-jin was an in-house director of ADOR. NewJeans’ contract expires on July 31, 2029. Contacting in advance before the contract expires constitutes prior contact.
Of course, if successful, it’s tampering; if failed, it’s just a meeting.
11. Uncle B was the bridge.
Mr. B is a family member of a NewJeans member. Min Hee-jin calls him ‘Father.’ He introduced Min Hee-jin to Chairman A, directly probing investment intentions.
“Mr. B contacted me first. He asked if I could invest about 5 billion won in Min Hee-jin. The two seemed to be communicating closely regarding the investment.” (Chairman A)
In fact, Mr. B was busy. He met separately with Min Hee-jin and also met with NewJeans’ families. Then he briefed Chairman A on the situation.
“He said they were looking for investors. So we set up a meeting. I explained two structures. Quite a lot of discussions took place over three hours.” (Chairman A)
12. ‘Daboin Link’ responded first.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service’s electronic disclosure system, ‘Daboin’ announced new director appointments on October 2. It was two days after meeting Min Hee-jin.
Lee XX: New director of ‘Daboin Link.’
“Next to Min Hee-jin are Lee XX and Park XX. I put those two on the board. If there was no investment discussion that day (September 30), why would I appoint them?” (Chairman A)
However, the board meeting didn’t take place. Min Hee-jin suddenly denied contact with ‘Daboin.’ Chairman A removed the two from the director list.
Was it Min Hee-jin’s change of heart or Mr. B’s prank? The inside story is unknown. Chairman A told ‘Dispatch,’ “I’ve never been so toyed with,” expressing frustration.
“They came to my house, saying they wanted to meet. Then they said they never contacted me? With that lie, the stock price dropped by 50% in the short term. It’s really absurd.” (Chairman A)
13. The principle of Bullshit Asymmetry.
It means that the energy needed to refute nonsense is greater than the energy needed to produce it. A famous Italian programmer said this.
“I clearly state that I have never contacted or discussed with any place.” (Min Hee-jin’s statement)
When faced with unfavorable issues, Min Hee-jin often loses her memory. She might say, “How can I remember a KakaoTalk from three years ago?”
(But ‘○○ fatso’ is not a KakaoTalk from three years ago; it’s from three months ago.)
‘Dispatch’ received a tip in September that “Min Hee-jin is meeting with officials from listed companies.” Knowing her specialty, more energy had to be invested.
‘Dispatch’ has also invested additional energy to prove her hypocrisy.
14. For example, inappropriate love spells toward a high-ranking HYBE executive.
In 2021, Min Hee-jin brought NewJeans from ‘Source.’ At that time, she tried to close the deal in irrational and unethical ways.
Min Hee-jin’s views on her profession, workplace, and women are abnormal. She didn’t hesitate to use any means to achieve her goals. (However, she said it wasn’t sexual bribery.)
“I flirted crazily with OOO (a high-ranking HYBE executive). Sat close, told him I couldn’t hear so come closer.”
“It’s not that I want to offer sexual favors… If I could get things done more easily by sleeping with him once, I might.”
“If I sleep with OOO once, I think I could make him completely fall for me…” (Min Hee-jin, July 2021)
Min Hee-jin asked for love spells for 4-5 men who could be helpful. The shaman attempted a shamanistic approach to enter the bodies of the men.
But the flirtation with the old man ended in failure. It was aborted due to the other’s blocking. Instead, she got the result—successfully bringing NewJeans to ADOR.
“An individual’s malicious actions should not damage the essence of the industry. It was really bad.” (Resignation statement)
Does she have the right to discuss the essence of the industry?
15. Really bad?
“An individual’s malicious actions should not damage the essence of the industry. It was really bad.” (Resignation statement)
Does Min Hee-jin have the right to discuss the essence of the industry? She embraced the raw gems discovered by Source in irrational ways. She (in her own words) flirted, not sweated.
Does she really have the right to discuss the essence of the industry? Min Hee-jin used NewJeans as shields. She utilized them as the sword of the live broadcast and the spear of the National Audit. As much as she gained glory, NewJeans was wounded.
Does she truly have the right to discuss the essence of the industry? She hid behind and plotted anew. When rumors spread, she said “groundless.” She incited that it was HYBE’s attack or media play. If there were no photos, we would have been fooled again.
There’s a quote often (incorrectly) attributed to Paul Joseph Goebbels, the propagandist of Nazi Germany.
“Propaganda can be done with a single sentence, but refuting it requires dozens of pages of documents and evidence. And before the refutation is made, people are already persuaded by the propaganda.”
